Plaquemine Department of Bands Banquet
This week, we celebrated our Green Machine at their End-of-Year Banquet, and what a beautiful evening it was! We are so proud of our band department and the dedication, talent, and hard work they continue to display year after year. The Green Machine keeps getting better and better, and it is amazing to watch this program continue to grow and succeed!

School Nurse Appreciation Day
Today, we celebrate School Nurse Appreciation Day! We would like to recognize Nurse McCoy for the incredible care and dedication she shows to our scholars each and every day. She is an essential part of our school community—always there with a helping hand, a caring heart, and a commitment to keeping our students safe and healthy. We would also like to recognize our amazing Access Health team! Ms. Courtney and Ms. Jael provide an outstanding clinic for our school community, ensuring our students and staff have access to the care they need.

Ms. Brumfield’s 8th-grade Science scholars have been hard at work creating models of extended structures! These hands-on projects showcase their creativity, critical thinking, and understanding of engineering concepts. Way to go, scholars!

DeRidder Marching Festival Results
On Saturday, October 18, the Green Machine took part in the DeRidder Marching Festival. The band, percussion, and drum major all received an Excellent (II) rating, while the Dazzlers earned a Superior (I) rating. Our overall rating as a performance group was an Excellent (II). Congratulations to the Dazzlers for their Superior rating, and to the Green Machine for an excellent performance as we prepare for the LMEA State Marching Competition on November 4, 2025.
Mr. Mills' Carpentry Class
How cool is this?! Mr. Mills’ students built this picnic table from scratch! Their hard work and teamwork really paid off! We couldn’t be prouder of these talented Green Devils!
