Exciting news from the PHS library! Mr. Chauvin's WIN students just visited to pick out some fantastic books to read over Spring Break! With a brand new shipment of books, the excitement is palpable as they dive into their next adventures.
Next, Mrs. Whitaker's class will choose their own great reads for the break! Stay tuned for more literary fun!
Certified Welders
We’re thrilled to announce that we now have six more certified welders at PHS! Their hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments!

Platinum, Gold & Silver WorkKeys Scholars
Congratulations to our amazing students who scored Platinum, Gold, or Silver on the WorkKeys test! Mrs. Lagarde and Ms. Allen had the pleasure of awarding these high-achievers with ice cream and a sweatshirt as a token of our pride and appreciation. We are super proud of their hard work and success—and we’re already looking forward to ordering even more sweatshirts!
Louisiana Culinary Institute Field Trip
Ms. Bridgewater took her Students to Louisiana Culinary Institute. They toured the campus, ate lunch, and then had a blast exploring the innovative world of molecular gastronomy. Molecular gastronomy is where science meets culinary arts, discovering how creativity and technology transform the dining experience.

A huge thank you to the Westside CIG Group for mentoring our young men. They truly look forward to spending time with you all—not just for the delicious lunches (although those are a hit!) but for the valuable and inspiring sessions you provide. Today's session, "How Your Character Can Represent You," truly resonated with them as they continue to build their legacies. The lessons shared were impactful and will stay with them as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.

World War II Museum Field Trip
Mr. Jordan's U.S. History class had an amazing experience at the World War II Museum in New Orleans! Students got to dive deeper into the stages of the war through an interactive movie exhibit and see real artifacts that brought their classroom lessons to life.

Green Machine News
On November 5th, our incredible Green Machine took to the field for the first annual LMEA State Marching Competition! We are thrilled to announce that they earned the title of Superior Marching Band and claimed 1st Runner-Up in the state for Traditional Marching!
A huge congratulations to our talented musicians and dedicated staff for their hard work and passion. We are so proud of the Green Machine!
Bubbling with Discovery: Yeast and Cellular Respiration!
Our students, in Mrs. Patin's class, planned and executed a fascinating investigation using a Yeast Model to explore the changes in matter and energy flows during cellular respiration. They examined how these processes vary under different conditions, gaining valuable insights into the science of fermentation and energy production.
This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of biological systems but also highlighted the importance of experimentation in science. Great job, everyone!
Cybersecurity Class
Check out our cybersecurity class! Our students have been hard at work coding with the MIT coding app! We're proud to announce that all students successfully completed their coding goals!
Exploring Chemical Reactions in 7th-Grade Science
Mrs. Whitaker's 7th-grade Science students were engaged in exploring chemical reactions. They enjoyed seeing how each reaction created different substances with differing evidence of a chemical reaction.
Moving Forward to Excellence Day
Staff members come together during Parishwide Moving Forward to Excellence Day, a special spirit day dedicated to showcasing solidarity among employees and their collective dedication to fostering academic achievement and growth for all students.
